and more Symbols

Rene Harder
Hi

more symbols for review.

JKK4401: Headset jack - JAR02-062101
I haven't found any data sheet or footprint.

REC4301: Speaker
I think we can use the stock part Speaker (devices.lib)

MIC4301: Microphone: IMP-413TN
I could not find a stock part microphone so i draw one pretty quick.

CON1701: Battery connector BTP-03JA4G
Drawing and Footprint:
http://www.octekconn.com/uploads/file/file_path_62.pdf
The symbol in the Gta02 schematics has 7 pins although the battery
connector has only 5pins.

U1, ANT7801, WLAN and Bluetooth antenna

Am I right, that those are PCB embedded F-Antennas? At least the symbol
in the schematics of the WLAN antenna looks like an ordinary F-Antenna.

U1 is a Wavefar "embedded type" WTE06016.
ANT7801 is a Wavefar WTE78012.

They both seem to be custom designs. I can't even find any data
sheets :-( They're the green blocks that look like PCB material.

In my schematics they have the same part number WTE06016 but different
symbols, do you have a different schematic than i do?

I couldn't find anything either.
If these are a really wavefar antennas then i think they are
commercially available. Are they soldered on top of the PCB or directly
embedded in the PCB? Do we have any pictures where i might see them, now
I'm getting curious.

Oh, I had looked them up in the BOM :) Interesting ... looked at
them and they indeed appear identical. Here's a picture, BT on
the left, WLAN on the right:

http://people.openmoko.org/werner/antennas.jpg

Sorry for the blur. Each is about 3 mm thick.

They're soldered on top. I'm afraid these antennas may be custom
made. If you look at
http://www.wavefar.com.tw/product/Sf_231.pdf
It says that the "embedded" type is "Special customer design".

If I google for them, I find them both at netcomponents.com:

http://www.netcomponents.com/sitemap/WTE78012.html
http://www.netcomponents.com/sitemap/WTE06016.html

But I'm not sure if this means that they actually have them or
that they've just found the numbers somewhere, and will start
calling around if you ask them for a quote.

That's fine, I just wanted to see the shape of the trace and thanks a
lot for the pictures. I'm pretty sure that I've seen this design (maybe
similar) before but do not remember where. I'll dig a little bit more.

Anyway, If they are soldered to the top it shouldn't be a big deal to
find at least a replacement if needed.

Neither did I :-( Nuconn don't even seem to have a Web site.
There's a number of resellers that have that part, but none
with a data sheet, it seems.

> REC4301: Speaker

No luck with the data sheet here either. It's supposedly a
Philips 2403 252 28828, but NXP don't list any data sheets
for speakers or microphones.

The bad luck continues. What we're looking for is an
Imperial Electronics IMP-413TN, but http://www.imp.com.tw
doesn't respond.

Nice capacitor in the mike ! ;-)

Yup, they don't seem to make sense. Maybe someone recycled an
old footprint.

> U1, ANT7801, WLAN and Bluetooth antenna

It's probably be better to use the same pin numbers as Wavefar do.
But we'll have to see the data sheet or the component to be sure.

Thanks a lot !
